I've just been able, after much searching to obtain the above species of pike cichlid,
let's start by saying, these fish are found in the on the Columbian/ Venezuelan border. I was able to buy 4 of them ( thats all they had ), at around 5 inch t.l.
As yet the tank they are in is still settling, so no photos, but as soon as I can I'll get on and take some. The fish have a pink / reddish colour running through their dorsal fin, a central dark stripe .
These are one of the very large pike species, ranging in size from 15 to 30 inch overall, that's a pretty good size.
Feeding up to press has been, frozen bloodworm, mysis and artemia, all of which theve eaten easily.
At the moment they are in a 48 x 26 x 28 tank, powered by a Eheim 1,000 lph filter, 2 x 300 watt heaters and a led light unit.
The tank has no plants because of a pair of Uaru, living in there .
