Day out to Lincs Fish at Caistor

Morning all, I'm off for a full day out, to collect some fish and to meet some old mates today.

Firstly I'm off down to south of Worksop to pick up Richard Robinson, they we are off over to Caistor (note the spelling), where we will be meeting up with Jim Dawson, Rob Johnston, and much travelled cichlid man Alf Stahlsberg.

It should be a great day out, really looking forward to it. I will report back tonight on how it went.

Well yes, a really good day out.
Richard and I arrived at around 1100 at Lincs Fish, very nice set up, and the guy who owns it Rob Johnston specialises in Central and South American cichlids. He also has a very nice selection of catfish.
Had a good long chat with Alf and Jim, and then Jim set about catching the fish I was after, I bought 6 Satanoperca rhynchitis, 6 Crenicichla notopthalmus "jurus) and 5 Satanoperca sp jurupari.
All in all a great day out, and it was smashing talking to old friends again.

It's now 16th March, and I've just got in the house, and with a pot of coffee in hand I'm typing up where I've been.

This morning me and the missus set off for Lincs fish, it's about 1hr 20 min from home. Had a good chat again, with Jim Dawson, Rob wasn't there,

Anyway, I picked up a group of 5 Retroculus lapidifer at around 2.5 inches. Two pairs of Crenicichla regani sp "Orinoco", a spare female C.notopthalmus (purus), a female C.notopthalmus , and lastly 3 x Anomalochromis thomasi, which I think are lovely fish.

Was tempted with some other stuff , but left them alone, a large, beautiful pair of ? Festae, real stunners.
