I thought I would have a ride out to one of our local Garden Centers today, I get worms for the fish from there.
This place sells fish, mostly common community species, but does get in oddballs.
I had a look around the tanks, and low and behold there was a 6" Acarichthys heckelii, trying to hide behind a uplift tube. Poor thing, it was in coolish water, which was quite alkaline.
So I asked the owner what she's was asking for it £14 quid she said, ok I said -bag it up.
Getting it home it looks enormous next to mine, but seems to have settled in well, it's eating anyway.
I'm pretty chuffed
