To Silksworth Aquatics

Postby eartheater3298 » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:02 pm

Been up to Silksworth today. Picked up the following,
Satanoperca leucosticta
Satanoperca jurupari
Crenicichla compressiceps
Micro geophagus altispinosa

All the fish are wild caught, and all have fed since I put them into my tanks, the compressiceps decided to immediately have a fall out with two of the males going hammer and tong at each other, I may have to move one, I got 2 males and 3 females, they are a fabulous colour.

The C. Compressiceps have ceased sparring, so I've left all four together, they are in a 4ft tank, to which I've added 2 piles of stones, to give them more cover.

The females seem to be keeping out of their way.

Been up to Silksworth again, this time picked up a very nice pair of Satanoperca mapiritensis, and also 6 outstanding Biotodoma cupido, the mapiritensis are around a 7 inch male and 5.5 inch female, whilst all the cupido are around 4 inch. I'm very chuffed with the buys and all have settled in well. The mapiritensis came from Glasser so I know they are ID

Been up to Silksworth again, yesterday, and came back with the following fish:

Crenicichla geayi @ 4 inch t.l eight of

Crenicichla regani "tapajos" , males about 3 inch females about 2.5 inch , two pairs of

Crenicichla notopthalmus, a single female about 3 inch, I now have 2 males and 4 females.

And that was it, was almost tempted with some Uaru fernandyepetzi, some other pikes, and odds and ends, but managed to keep hands in pockets.
Also picked up some frozen food a couple of power heads, some sponge and a few other bits and bobs, had a good day.
